4 Parts of IELTS Test
IELTS LISTENING
The Listening test is the same for both IELTS Academic test and IELTS General Training test. A test taker needs to answer 40 questions in around 30-minute span from different recordings of mixed monologues and conversations from a range of native speakers. The recordings will only be played once so you should pay attention to every recording being played.
IELTS READING
Reading is the second part of the IELTS test, and takes 60 minutes. The Academic and General Training Reading Tests are graded to the same level. It is composed of three to four reading passages of increasing difficulty and with different types of questions. The test has a total of 40 questions to answer.
IELTS SPEAKING
IELTS Speaking is an informal discussion with an IELTS examiner. The Subtest is entitled for both Academic and General Training tests. It is divided into 3 tasks mainly to test your pronunciation, fluency, grammar and vocabulary.
IELTS WRITING
The writing component of the IELTS exam is designed to assess the organization of your ideas and how appropriate your responses are. Other focuses of this subtest are pointed towards coherence and cohesion, lexical resource, and grammatical range and accuracy. The Writing Task 1 of Academic test differs from the format of General Training. Nevertheless, it comprises two tasks and candidates have exactly an hour to respond to the writing task question.
